So, it’s gift time for the boss! Do you give another “World’s Greatest Boss” mug or a set of golf balls again? All the gifts you know he’d like are way out of your price range, and frankly, you don’t really like him that well anyway! The best business gift ideas are the ones that compliment the recipients hobbies and pastimes but in a funny way. Even though these gifts are gags which get the laughter flowing, they also have a practical side.
When you saw the movie “Wild Hogs”, did you recognize a couple of people from your own office, a boss, a coworker, a client or even an assistant? Knowing someone is a weekend Harley rider gives you a great gift giving opportunity. In fact, it lends itself to perfect business gift ideas that will make the whole “what the heck do I get” shopping experience much easier!
Knowing you’re dealing with a biker, whether they seem stuffy in the office or not, lets you know there’s a wild man / woman buried under those layers of staunch professionalism. Little does the world know that underneath that proper business attire lays a wind in the hair, biker bar attending and leather chap wearing free spirit, longing for the weekend. It also tells you that in spite of weekday appearances, there’s a man or woman with a sense of humor!
So, is your “Easy Rider” young or old, male or female? It doesn’t matter. There are all kinds of business gift ideas but I tend to go with those that are of special meaning to the recipient and will give us all a good laugh. Riders have to watch out for “red necks”. They’re a real pain for the biker types! Now before you go thinking about your neighbor that kicked the five dogs out from under his mobile home so he could find the keys to his rusty old pick up to dig out his half drunk bottle of Billy beer, we’re talking red neck, not Redneck. You’ve see them, those lilywhite bikers that go off on their bikes with a tank top and forget all about Mr. Sun up in the sky. After a few hours, they’ve got some of the worst “red-neck” you’ll ever see. So, why not get them some “Red Neck Repellent? This super gift is not only hilarious but it’s also practical.
Can you imagine giving a bottle of “Old Fart Spray “as a gift? This is designed specifically for the old farts out there, whatever their age, that ride and get stiff joints or achy muscles. The product helps keep the rider in the saddle a little longer by providing some great analgesic relief to sore spots and the name is a riot. When a biker receives some “Old Fart Spray” their initial reaction is laughter but then they notice that the bottle is properly sized for the motorcycle rider and the quality product inside has a practical purpose. Picture your best client whipping out his “Old Fart Spray” while he’s talking to others, they see the bottle, they all laugh and then, your name comes up. Suddenly that old fart is giving you some free advertisement!
When you start looking past the obvious junk, you’ll find that unique business gift ideas will be much more appreciated by your coworkers, clients, bosses or assistants. They are expecting that standard everyday junk they always receive. Why not surprise them with a gift that says; “Hey, I cared enough to take the time to get you something personal and special”. These fun presents aren’t just gag gifts but great practical items that have fun names and packaging. If someone gets one of these, doesn’t laugh, hug your neck or immediately turn to show it to someone else, then break out the mirror to stick under their nose and check to see if they’re still breathing!

My TKD Grandmaster, who has been a teacher and mentor to me since I was very young, will be retiring in two weeks to do Christian Missionary work in North Korea. I was trying to get some ideas for a gift for him.
Something symbolic, like one of his belts in a large frame with signatures and/or photos of his students. If possible, try to contact other black belts that he has promoted over the years and have them contribute.
Another idea is to put together a video with highlights of his classes and/or competitions. You can have students contribute commentary to the video.
Good luck!
I am a personal trainer- I like to give my long-term clients gifts related to self-care (body care scrubs/lotions, pampering items) I have a client who is really not "girly" she is married, in her 50's. does not like to wear scents, isnt into self-pampering.
any ideas on what to get her?
tickets to the movies
gift certificate to her favorite restaurant
subscription to her favorite magazine
I will be going abroad to my home country soon for a vacation. I would like to get back some nice gifts for some of my co-workers and my boss. Is it best to ask them what they'd like, or just make the best choice and gift it to them?
Also, what kind of items would be really appreciated…?
to give a gift that you put some thought and effort into is usually the most valued, no matter what it is.
so give some thought to the attitudes and apparent choices that your coworkers and boss have displayed and find a small gift for each that goes well with what you have seen. the thought behind the gift is much more important than the actual gift.
