In the last few months, I've made a fair bit of money from a new client. They don't know me too well personally, but I've gone on to do some bendover backwards type work for them - and charged them for it.
Now during the Christmas season I've bought all my contacts nice gifts (about $100) each. Is this appropriate…or embarrasing for them.
1) Would they feel they are paying me too much?
2) Would they feel I'm not giving enough?
3) Would they be uncomfortable at not having gotten me anything?
It's your call. It will not make them feel uncomfortable. I usually limitmy gifts for customers to $25.00. This year I gave to 20 customers.
This is my first Christmas at my new company. My boss gave everyone their holiday gifts already ($50 giftcard). Do I have to give her a gift. If so, how much, and got any ideas what? What about other co-workers?
For Co-workers you could get them personalized magnets or buttons at Kinko's (they are about $5) unless you have alot. And for your boss you should get her something, maybe a personalized desk organizer at Kinko's (about $30). You can personalize them with any picture or writing. I hope it all works out and I helped!
My 9 month old has been going to a private daycare/school since he was 6 weeks old. There are several teachers in the infant room along with the other teachers at the daycare that help out and of course the front desk staff and director. What's a creative or nice gift that we can give them for Christmas without having to spending a ton of $$. Thanks for the suggestions!
Any type of gift card..
Something that will relax them from constantly being around kids: spa kit, spa gift certificate for a massage, etc.
Make them all a holiday-themed homemade dinner to show your appreciation.
Bring homemade cookies/other treats.
Maybe some plants to spruce up the daycare/office?
Picture frames, wall art, etc.
Merry Christmas!
I work for a non-profit and I am soliciting local businesses to give gift donations for our annual Christmas party. I’m wondering if I should be contacting corporate headquarters or actual store locations?
You could start off by looking at the website of the company. If that doesn’t help I would speak directly to the manager of the location and ask. It is going to vary from location to location. In some cases all decisions like that will be made at corporate head quarters. Other times the manager has the power to make the decision. In many cases the manager will have the power to do something but will probably tell you to call corporate to get you out of their hair! Of course if it is a small business then everything should be decided right there. I don’t envy your task during these economic times - good luck!

A great customer appreciation event in San Fran. Peter Syrek of Marketingandsuch.com hosts and emcees close to 50 Fortune 500 Clients in two suites Beyond funny, memorable gifts we handed out, we had hostesses dress in custom company cheerleading outfits for photo opps.
This video was part of our post-event promotion. Video was shared with attendees, those attendees shared with colleagues and the event lived for months after it was over. Awesome relationship buidling initiative creating a big “buzz” for the company.
